Daniel Eugene "Dan" Faulkner, 76, of Dallas Lake, Wolcottville, Indiana died unexpectedly Monday, February 23, 2026, in the emergency room at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.
He was born December 7, 1949, in Kendallville to Donald E. and Marie L. (Krotzer) Faulkner. They preceded him in death.
On January 9, 1971, at Stroh Church of Christ he married Marilyn Perkins.
He honorably served in the U.S. Army, where he proudly carried out his duties with dedication and integrity. During his service, he operated as a truck driver, providing essential logistical support to his unit and contributing to numerous successful operations. His commitment and skill were recognized through several commendations, including the National Defense Medal, the Sharpshooter Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. His service stands as a testament to his courage, discipline, and unwavering patriotism.
Dan retired as a welder at Coachman Industries in Middlebury.
He was a proud member of the LaGrange American Legion and the Bass Masters Association of Indiana. A passionate outdoorsman, he took part in many local fishing tournaments and was a mentor to other fisherman. Dan found his greatest joy on the water, where he was known as an avid and dedicated fisherman.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Marilyn Faulkner of Dallas Lake; three daughters, Donna (Mike Morris) Faulkner of Albion, Michigan, Carrie (Tony) Loeffler of Leo, and Jesse (Patrick) Martin of Topeka; six grandchildren, Jayden Schlabach, Mason Schlabach, Hannah Loeffler, Max Loeffler, Edison Martin, and Haddie Martin; and a sister, Sandra Quinn of Wolcottville.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sue E. Faulkner and Brenda McLain.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 4 p.m, to 7 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 27, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with John Coney officiating.
Honor guard services will be provided by the LaGrange American Legion.
Memorials may be directed to Kids Day Fishing Tournament.
