Dale M. Hoyt, 89, of Kendallville, Indiana died Monday, December 1, 2025, at Auburn Village Nursing Home in Auburn.
He was born July 2, 1936, in Osseo, Michigan to George Washington Hoyt, III and Frances Ann (Monroe) Hoyt.
He married Judith Ann Maurer on October 5, 1963, in Albion, Michigan. She preceded him in death on September 13, 2016.
He had lived in the area since October of 1958, coming from Albion, Michigan.
Dale was a truck driver for 35 years.
He was a member of the Kendallville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for 67 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Sondra Hoyt of Auburn; a son, Steven (Brenda) Hoyt of Wolcottville; six grandchildren, Aaron (Nicole) Hoyt, Cory (Autumn) Ernsberger, Jamin Bowers-Hoyt, Chantel (Roy) Repine, Zachary Hoyt, and Elizabeth Sherman; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Marcie Ann Nartker on March 24, 2020; nine siblings; and a niece, Candy Davids.
Visitation will be Friday, December 5, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville, and also one hour prior to services on Saturday.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with James Charles officiating.
Private burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion.
Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Hoyt and Bradlee Sherman. Active pallbearers are Steve Hoyt, Aaron Hoyt, Cory Ernsberger, Jamin Bowers-Hoyt, Zachary Hoyt, and Adam Nichols.
Preferred memorials are to the family.
