Funeral services will be Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the Wolcottville Church of God. Burial will be Monday, March 30, 2015, at 1 p.m. in Ever Rest Memorial Park, 8315 Logansport Road, Logansport, Indiana.
Calling is Friday, March 27, 2015, from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Wolcottville Church of God and one hour prior to services on Saturday. *************************************************************************************** Curtis Eugene "Gene" Suffridge, 72, of Rome City died Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at 4:15 p.m. in his residence with his family at his side.
He lived in this area for 24 years, coming from Peru.
He had been a pastor for 35 years, serving 24 years at the Wolcottville Church of God. He had also worked at Starcraft in Topeka and Gulf Stream in Nappanee.
Gene was passionate about preaching the Word of God, being a servant of God, and bringing people to know Christ. He enjoyed fishing and especially loved his German Shepherd, Elsie.
He was born September 1, 1942, in Richmond, Kentucky, to Curtis Lee and Lillian L. (Kendrick) Suffridge, and grew up in Hindman, Kentucky.
On April 9, 1966, in Cleveland, Ohio, he married Leah Jane "Janie" Landes. She survives in Rome City.
Also surviving are two daughters, Judy (Eric) Walter of Rome City and Teresa (Brian) Keen of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Favre, Joshua Roseberry, Briana Keen, Jared Keen, Brock Walter, Brittney (Mario) Aguilar, and Brice (Kylie) Walter; and five great-grandchildren, Ayden Aguilar, Ava Aguilar, Darin Walter, Liam Walter, and Erison Favre; and a brother, Gary (Noelle) Suffridge of Florence, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Rachel Ann Suffridge and Renee E.L. Suffridge; two sisters, Barbara Suffridge and Joyce Dunn; and two brothers, Kenneth Suffridge and Danny Suffridge.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the Wolcottville Church of God with Pastor Sean Landes and Pastor Scott Landes officiating. Burial will be Monday, March 30, 2015, at 1 p.m. in Ever Rest Memorial Park, 8315 Logansport Road, Logansport, Indiana.
Calling is Friday, March 27, 2015, from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Wolcottville Church of God and one hour prior to services on Saturday.
