Cleo I. "Jean" King, 97, of Kendallville died Tuesday, February 16, 2021, in Kendallville with her family at her side.
She was born August 10, 1923, in Lovings, Oklahoma, to James and Anna (Baty) Tomlin.
On August 3, 1940, in Atoka, Oklahoma, she married Joseph E. King. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2017. They were honored to celebrate their 77th wedding anniversary prior to his death.
Mrs. King was a homemaker. She and her husband moved to this area in the fall of 1958, coming from Oklahoma.
Jean enjoyed crocheting, macremé, and painting. She was an incredible cook and baker.
Surviving are a daughter, Sara "Judy" Evers of Kendallville; a son, Donald H. (Dianne Binkley) King of Knox; three grandchildren, Stephen (Denice) Evers, Angie King-Underwood, and Mindy (Kreig) Woods; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, John Evers; two sisters; and two brothers.
There will be no visitation or services.
Preferred memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Noble County, 1305 Sherman Street, Kendallville, Indiana, 46755.
Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
