Clarence Robert "Bob" Norris, 77, of Rome City died at 1:17 pm Monday February 25, 2008, at his residence. Mr. Norris graduated from Junction City High School, Junction City, Ohio. He was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren, woodworking, and collecting vintage cars. Bob was a tool and die maker by trade, retiring from Pent Industries. He had previously worked at King Seeley, Kendallville, IN and Wayne Home Equipment, Ft. Wayne, IN. Most recently, he worked for his son, Randy at R & S Boats in Rome City. He was born April 29, 1930, in Pomroy, Ohio, to Rev. Lawrence T. and Belinda (Wolf) Norris. He married Elaine Sampson Pippenger on December 20, 1969, in Decatur, Indiana. Surviving are his wife, Elaine Norris of Rome City; three sons, Randy Lee and Sandra Pippenger of Rome City; Michael Dene and Laurie Norris of Albion; and Jon Robert and Melodie Norris of Ft. Wayne; nine grandchildren; four sisters, Connie Bobbitt of Mesa, AZ; Donna and Charles McWhorter, Lady Lake, FL; Evelyn and Tom Shea of Lancaster, OH; Linda and Jerry Kaehr, Chula Vista, CA; and one brother: Harold and Delight "Dee" Norris of Auburn. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Makota Zane Norris, and three brothers, Lawrence Norris, Charles Norris, and James Alfred Norris Funeral service will be Friday, February 29, 2008, at 10:30 am at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Rev. Carldean Merrifield officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City, IN with military honors by VFW Post 2749. Casketbearers will be Vietnam veterans.
