Obituary

Clara Violet Caldwell, 83, of LaGrange died Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Grey Stone Health & Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne.

She was born February 17, 1938, in Morehead, Kentucky, to Odes and Ida (Stevens) Fultz.

On September 12, 1961, in Logansport she married Charles O. Caldwell. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2018.

Mrs. Caldwell was a CNA for 22 years at the LaGrange County Hospital in LaGrange.

Clara was a diehard Chicago Cubs baseball fan. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, doing puzzles, and watching game shows on television.

Surviving are two daughter, Kim (Leo Cirbo) McGrath of Platteville, Colorado, and Karen Caldwell of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Aaron (Alysa) Troyer, Lindsey (Dylan) Cisneros, and Hayley (Bobbi Meyer) McGrath; and four great-grandchildren, Penelope Troyer, Everleigh Troyer, Charles Troyer, and Harper Cisneros.

She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Hildreth Sweeney, Faye Lands, Bertha Carmicheal, Scharlotte Johnson, and Gaythel White.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 6, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Andy Lands officiating.

Burial will follow at Woodruff Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Andy Lands, Roger Carmicheal, Jerry Hockworth, and Ernest "Bud" Withrow.

Visitation is Friday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the donor's choice.

Clara's funeral service on Friday will also live stream on the Young Family Funeral Home Facebook page at 2 p.m. for those unable to attend in person.
