Funeral services will be Friday, May 22, 2015, at 1 p.m. in Salem United Baptist Church, 8227 North State Road 9, Rome City.

Calling is Thursday, May 21, 2015, from 2 to 8 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. ************************************************************************************ Chester D. Craft, 73, of Kendallville died Monday, May 18, 2015, at 6:22 a.m. in Parkview Noble Hospital Emergency Room, following a six-month illness.

He lived in this area for over 50 years, coming from Kentucky.

Mr. Craft retired from the maintenance department at Newnam and Dalton Foundries in Kendallville.

He was born February 9, 1942, in Rockfork, Kentucky, to Ora and Mary (Tharp) Craft.

On September 15, 1985, in Wolcottville he married Edith Marie Gaston. She survives in Kendallville.

Also surviving are two daughters, Tammee (Jarrod Barnes) Napier of Albion and Rhonda (Ron) Fox of Auburn; a son, Fred (Paula Whitt) Stenner of Mission, South Dakota; 13 grandchildren, Elon (Bronson) Rowe, Brandon (Samantha) Napier, Samantha (Shane Whitmer) Fox, Robert (Amanda Burns) Conroy, Zachary (Nicho le Hartman) Conroy, Ryan (Teiha Berryhill) Fox, Natasha Fox, Caleb Fox, Renee (Jamar) Gressett, Jessica (Brad) Hathaway, Crystal (Jonathan) Rose, Fred Stenner, and Melissa Craft; 23 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ellaree Johnson, of Knox, Juanita Combs of Mousie, Kentucky, and Golden (Don) Wright of Covington, Virginia; and four brothers, Verlie (Brenda) Craft of Selma, Virginia, Don Craft of Kendallville, Charles (Deb) Craft of Knox, and Larry (Deb) Craft of Viper, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Doug Craft and Charlie Craft; a sister, Amie Robinson; and two brothers, Virgil Craft and Joe Craft.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 22, 2015, at 1 p.m. in Salem United Baptist Church, Rome City with Rev. Billy Tuttle officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Napier, Fred Stenner, Zach Conroy, Jonathan Rose, Ron Fox, Caleb Fox, Robert Conroy, Ryan Fox, and Bronson Rowe.

Calling is Thursday, May 21, 2015, from 2 to 8 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Preferred memorials are to Salem United Baptist Church.
