Cheryl L. Stevens, 67, of Albion died Friday, July 15, 2011, at 10:58 p.m. in her residence.

Mrs. Stevens had lived in Albion since 1976, coming from Sylvan Lake. She had worked at Kraft Foods in Kendallville, Leatherman Construction in Albion, Plastamatics in Albion, Sackner in Albion, CompreCare Home Health in Kendallville and did housekeeping at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. She was also a Cub Scout Den leader.

She was born December 24, 1943, in Wolcottville to Clifford and Francis (Zook) Eshelman. She was married to Gene "Smitty" Schmidt. He preceded her in death in 1994. She was also married to Jack Stevens, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Hans and Cindy Schmidt of Columbia City and Tracey Schmidt of Cathleen, Georgia; a daughter-in-law, Susan Stevens of Albion; two stepdaughters, Kim and Rick Edsall of Albion and Tia and Doug Buckland of Kendallville; a stepson, Brad and Nicole Stevens of Albion; ten grandchildren; and a sister, Mable Lee Combs of Peru.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jason "Hook" Stevens; and a sister, Anna Lee Eshelman.

Private funeral services will be held with Rev. Doug Keenan of Berean Baptist Church in Albion officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Wolcottville.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are by Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.
