Charles M. Napier, 68, of Rome City died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at 8 a.m. at his residence. He was born March 3, 1939, in Hazard, Kentucky to Sidney and Florence Napier. He has lived in Rome City for 40 years, coming from Hazard. He was a truck driver for Ace Hardware in Perrysburg, Ohio for the past 30 years. He was married in September, 1961 in Rowdy, Kentucky to Elsie Mae Mosley. She survives in Rome City. Also surviving are three daughters and one son-in-law, Brenda Mullett of Rome City; Linda Combs of Rome City; and Angela & Nathan McNeal of Wolcottville; two sons, Roy Mullett and Robbie Napier both of Rome City; two brothers, Ishmael Napier of Rome City; and Knox Napier of Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Ashley Mullett, Vicki Smart, Toby Combs, Devin Combs Zayne McNeal, Skyler McNeal, Stevie Gillespie, Haley Napier, and Hunter Napier; and two great grandchildren, Logan Smart and Jasney Combs. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 5th at 11 a.m. at the Salem United Baptist Church on State Road 9 North of US 6 with Pastor Billy Ray Tuttle and Pastor Alonzo Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery at Rome City. Visitation is Thursday, May 3rd after 3 p.m. and all day Friday, May 4th at the church. There will be an evening service Friday at 6 p.m. Preferred memorials are to the family. Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
