Catherine Eve Roberts, 57, of Houston, Texas and formerly of Kendallville, Indiana died Monday, August 25, 2025, after a brief illness.

She was born June 11, 1968, in DeKalb County, Indiana to George and Patricia (Trowbridge) Brumbaugh.

On November 6, 2011, in Rome City she married Clifford L. Roberts. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2020.

Cathy was a homemaker.

She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Jessica Marzion of Auburn and Courtney (Garry Parker) Cooper of Houston, Texas; three sons, Zebulon (Harmony) Cromie of Houston, Texas, Zane Cromie of Kendallville, and Kyle Cooper of Kendallville; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, George Brumbaugh, II of Garrett and Jeff Brumbaugh of Kendallville; and her favorite fur baby, Courtney's dog, Mozart.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Andrew Cromie; her father, George Brumbaugh; her mother, Patricia Engle; her step father, William W. "Bill" Engle; two sisters, Christina K. (Handshoe) See and Rose Ann (Handshoe) Devereau; and a brother, Garnel Handshoe, Jr.

Private burial will be in Orange Cemetery.

Celebration of life services will be announced at a later date.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
