Obituary

Catherine V. Rasler, 85 of Avilla and formerly of Kendallville died Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at 9:50 a.m. in Provena Sacred Heart Home, Avilla where she had resided for six years.

Mrs. Rasler attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kendallville. She had worked at McCray Refrigeration in Kendallville and 12 years at Lakeside Speedwash in Kendallville.

She was born September 12, 1923, in Wolcottville to Lester and Hazel (Dunifin) Reade. On February 16, 1951, she married John W. Springer. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1972. She then married Lawrence M. Rasler in June of 1974. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1999.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy & Roger Boggs of Albion; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Emily Springer of Fort Wayne; five stepsons and their spouses, Jerry and Joyce Springer of Auburn, James and Kathy Springer of Warsaw, Douglas and Mary Rasler of Evansville, Brian and Cindy Rasler of Topeka, and Stuart and Barb Rasler of Churubusco; eight grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; and four step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Lankford, and three sisters.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 3, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville, with calling one hour prior to services.

Burial will be in Woodruff Cemetery.
