Catherine A. Ickes, 74, of Kendallville died Thursday, November 29, 2012, at 5:15 a.m. in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville following a lengthy illness.

She moved to this area in 1998, coming from Bedford, Pennsylvania.

Catherine was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Kendallville. She was a former board member of the Noble County Council on Aging in Kendallville.

She was born September 7, 1938, in Pavia, Pennsylvania, to Harry and Mary (Myers) Ickes.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Rosalie and Lynn Moore of Ligonier; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Bowser of Middlebury and Wesley and Lois Bowser of Syracuse; five grandchildren, Lacie Bowser of Middlebury, Elizabeth Moore of Ligonier, Jennifer Moore of Ligonier, Chad (Trina) Smith of New Paris, and Eric Smith of Syracuse; four great grandchildren, Nasami Moore of Ligonier, Colton Hite of New Paris, Callahan Smith of New Paris, and Kalina Smith of New Paris; a sister, Esther Miller of Bedford, Pennsylvania; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Wilma Ickes of Keyser, West Virginia, and Carl and Imogene Ickes of Huntington, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Ickes.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 1, 2012, at 2 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Robert Farmer of the First Christian Church in Kendallville officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Calling is Saturday, December 1, 2012, from noon to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
