Cameron Patton, 34, of Kendallville died Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at 9:22 a.m. in his residence with his family at his side. He had been ill for 1 ½ years.
He was a lifetime area resident, and a 2002 graduate of East Noble High School.
He had worked as a welder at Phoenix and WickFab.
Mr. Patton was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville, where he coached the St. John Lutheran School basketball team.
Cameron was known as a gentle giant. He loved riding his Harley, hunting, being outside cutting wood and grilling. He was also a roadie for his father-in-law's band, Main Street Crisis.
He was born October 31, 1982, in Auburn to Michael L. Patton and Kathrine Lyte-Crubaugh.
On October 22, 2011, in Kendallville he married Carmen C. DiGirolamo. She survives in Kendallville.
Also surviving are three sons, Jordan Cameron Patton of Kendallville, Jaden Andrew DiGirolamo of Kendallville, and Jared Dennis DiGirolamo of Kendallville; a daughter, Haylee Madalynn Terry of Kendallville; his father and stepmother, Michael L. "Mike" and Trisha Patton of Kendallville; his mother, Kathrine "Kat" Shown of Coldwater, Michigan; a brother, Chase (Natalie) Gibson of Auburn; four sisters, Crystal Patton of Fort Wayne, Gabby Shown of Coldwater, Michigan, Faith Shown of Tennessee, and Hope Shown of Tennessee; his paternal grandmother, Maxie (Ross) Handshoe of Kendallville; his father-in-law, John DiGirolamo of Warsaw; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Glenda and Gary Englehart of Kendallville; and his faithful companion, Tank.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Leo "Ray" Patton.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 28, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the St. John Lutheran Church Worship Center, 301 South Oak Street, Kendallville with Rev. Dr. Robert Shriner officiating.
Honorary pallbearer will be Chase Gibson. Active pallbearers are John Gibson, Michael Taulbee, Jaden DiGirolamo, Jared DiGirolamo, Gary Englehart, and Kenny Galligher.
Calling is Sunday, November 27, 2016, from 2 to 6 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church or to the family.
