Obituary

He was born August 6, 1937, in Huntington, Indiana, to Leo M. and Verda Jane (Call) Ebert.

On October 17, 1959, in Churubusco he married Ardean Blessing.

He served in the Air Force and the Indiana Air National Guard. He was stationed in France during the Berlin Crisis.

Mr. Ebert retired in 2002 from Alliance Winding Equipment in Fort Wayne where he was a design engineer. He completed his apprenticeship at GE in Fort Wayne to become a design engineer. Bueford was proud of the fact that he possessed a patent in his name in machine design.

He was a member of Trinity Church United Methodist in Kendallville and the Mayflower Society.

Bueford was the family historian, as genealogy was his passion. He often was kidded about tracing his lineage all the way back to Adam and Eve.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Ardean Ebert of Avilla; a son, Miles (Lynette) Ebert of Auburn; two daughters, Wendy Ann (Neil) Laymon of Warren and Karna Kay (Brent) Ley of Avilla; eight grandchildren, Keeley (Austin) Glasper, Annie Ebert, Tasha (David) Shaw, Ashton (Ryne) Hicks, Kavin (Elizabeth) Ley, Brittney (fiancé, Logan Ankney) Ley, Sierra (Jake) Rosenberger, and Noah (Veronika) Laymon; and nine great-grandchildren, Malia, Ellie, Paisley, Mackenzie, Bryn, Eliza, Ezra, Maya, and Isaac.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Ebert; and a great grandson, Asher Ley.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville and one hour prior to the service on Monday.

The funeral service will be Monday, January 22, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Drew Baker of Trinity Church United Methodist in Kendallville officiating.

Honor guard services will be provided by the U.S. Air Force.

Burial will follow at Eel River Cemetery near Churubusco.

Pallbearers are Austin Glasper, David Shaw, Kavin Ley, Ryne Hicks, Noah Laymon, Jake Rosenberger, Logan Ankney, and Brent Ley.
