Brandon Lee Halsey, 32, of Wolcottville died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 5:15 p.m. at his residence. He had battled cancer for five years.
Mr. Halsey was a lifetime area resident. He was a licensed realtor.
He was born February 15, 1976, in Kendallville to Roger Haston and Barbara Pearson. He was later adopted by Dennis Halsey.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Marshall Pierce of Wolcottville; his father, Roger Haston of Stroh; his adoptive father, Dennis Halsey of Stroh; a daughter, Sage Halsey of Kendallville; a son, Robert Halsey of Kendallville; a sister, Amanda Halsey of Kendallville; two stepsisters, Stacey Halsey and Nikki Halsey of Stroh; a stepbrother, Lucas Pierce of West Virginia; and aunts and uncles, Maxine Compton of Kendallville, Debi and Palmer Smith of South Milford, Darlene and Ray Pierce of Matoka, West Virginia, Cindy and Bob Ransom of Adrian, Michigan, Garnet Pearson of Maiden, North Carolina, Grove and Vicki Pearson of Stanley, North Carolina, Jerry and Linda Pearson of Corunna, Tony and Lauretta Pearson of Kendallville, and Gary Halsey of Stroh.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and three uncles.
Services will be Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at the Liberty Freewill Baptist Church, 2900 E 1150 N, Wolcottville, with Pastor Earl Rose, Paul Copeland, and Quent Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.
Active casketbearers will be Rodney Walker, Jack Magner, Mark Fansler, Shawn Halsey, Tony Pearson, and Todd Shutt. Honorary casketbearers will be Chris Handshoe, Joe Handshoe, Mark McCarty, and Clinton Hoover.
Calling will be Tuesday, May 13, 2008, after 2 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.
