Bonnie Brenda Newcomer, 88, of Kendallville, Indiana died Friday, March 20, 2026, at her residence.
She was born April 13, 1937, in Hamilton to George and Bernice (Walter) Deller.
On February 13, 1965, in Kendallville she married Jerry O. Newcomer.
Aside from being a member at Grace Christian Church, Bonnie was a homemaker and also a very talented cook and baker. She worked as a breakfast cook at Galloway’s and the Chuckwagon in the 70s and 80s. Prior to that, she worked at Lauer’s Restaurant in Ligonier for several years.
She loved her family, but her heart was fuller with every new grandchild. Bonnie was an animal lover. She adopted many pets over the years, but her greatest love was her Miss Molly , who survives at home with Jerry.
Surviving are her husband, Jerry Newcomer of Kendallville; two daughters, Brenda (Kevin) McCorkle of Fort Wayne and Amy (Glenn) Grooms of Goshen. two sons, Jon (Christina) Newcomer of Kendallville and Ronald Newcomer of Kendallville; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren with one on the way; two sisters, Helen Sue Gerst of Ligonier and Betty Simpkins of Barboursville, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Rodney Newcomer; four sisters, Patricia Jones, Katherine Randol, Georgene Brueckner, and Geraldine Nichols; and a brother, Robert Deller.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.
Funeral services will also be on Wednesday beginning at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Mosley of Grace Christian Church officiating.
Burial will be in Circle Cemetery near Hudson at a later date.
Preferred memorials are to the Noble County Humane Society, 1305 Sherman Street, Kendallville, IN 46755.
