Obituary

Bonnie Combs Bloomer, 79, of Wolcottville died Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at 10:47 p.m. in her residence.

Mrs. Bloomer moved to this area in 1964, coming from Knott County, Kentucky. She retired from Coachman Industries in Middlebury after 20 years.

She was a member of the New Freedom Baptist Church in LaGrange.

She was born March 8, 1932, in Knott County, Kentucky, to Wade and Mary Ellen (Wooten) Ritchie. She married Thornton Combs, and he preceded her in death. She was also married to Charles Bloomer, and he preceded her in death.

Surviving are nine daughters, Janice (James) Ramey of Stroh, Sue (James) Messer of Rome City, Elmira (Darrell) Shepherd of Wolcottville, Fay (Rev. Larry) Anglemyer of Wolcottville, Shelby (Dennis) VanHoozer of Kendallville, Nannie (Brent) Eminger of Kendallville, Retha (Austin) Godsey of Stroh, Linda (William) Conley of Wolcottville, and April Combs of Wolcottville; a daughter-in-law, Sue Combs of Stroh; 24 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Inez Conley of Kendallville and Rosie Shepherd of Knott County, Kentucky.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Astor Combs; one brother; three sisters; and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 1 p.m. in New Freedom Baptist Church, 300 Sycamore Street, LaGrange with Pastor Wade Sturdivant, Pastor Terry Hines, and Pastor David Bolen officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Calling is Friday, April 15, 2011, after 2 p.m. at the church where there will be an evening service at 7 p.m.

Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association.
