Bonnetta Sells-Stacy, 56, of Kendallville died Saturday, June 6, 2009, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Sells-Stacy had lived most of her life in this area, coming from Kentucky. She had worked as a nurses aide at Shepherd of the Hill and Betz Nursing Home. She was a member of the Baptist church.
She was born December 10, 1952, in Knott County, Kentucky, to Curtis and Martha Ann (Coburn) Sells. On April 18, 2004, in LaGrange County she married Winfred Stacy. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2009.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and George Allen of Cherryville, North Carolina; two stepdaughters, Iolet and Randy Reisdorph of Kendallville and Julie Stacy of Topeka; a stepson Jamie Stacy of Kendallville; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Velma L. and Louis J. Gerick of Lovelady, Texas, Alice and Harlis Hall of Georgetown, Kentucky, Zeda Hoover of Lisbon, Lucretta Duncan of Kendallville, and Myrie and Dave Trueblood of Kendallville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Ann Mosley of Lisbon and Norman and Deb Sells of Kendallville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Freda Lawson and two brothers, Herman Sells and Marvin Ray Sells.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 12, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the Liberty Freewill Baptist Church in Wolcottville with Pastors Charlie Mosley, Phil Lucas, and Willie Collins officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery.
Calling will be Wednesday, June 10, 2009, after 3 p.m. and all day Thursday, June 11, 2009, at the church where an evening service will be held at 7 p.m. both nights.
Arrangements are by Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.
