Obituary

Bob A. Householder, 92, of LaOtto died Thursday, September 13, 2018, at his residence.

He was born July 23, 1926, in Noble County to Earl Householder, Sr. and Helen (Iddings) Householder.

On July 3, 1952, he married Lavon Rhodes.

Mr. Householder was a lifetime farmer. He also drove bus for many years for the East Noble School Corporation.

Bob was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in LaOtto. He served as President of the PTA at the LaOtto school, was the Swan Township Trustee, a 4-H leader, and served on the Noble County Fair Board. He was also a self-taught woodworker and an avid fisherman.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Lavon Householder of LaOtto; three daughters, Pam (Burt) Juif of Big Turkey Lake, Chris Ross of LaOtto, Deb (John) Price of Gainesville, Texas; two sons, Stan Householder of LaOtto and Phil (Annette) Householder of LaOtto; grandchildren, Alecia (Trey) Carroll, Julie (Michael) Dafforn, Tracee (Jason) Gross, Clint (Amanda) Thomas, Justin (Tiffani) Thomas, Dugan (Shanna) Price, Logan (Celie) Price, Amy Leton, Stacey (Greg French) Householder, Robert Householder, Taylor (Josh Ternet) Householder, Brooke (Clayton Badskey) Householder, and Dalton Householder; great grandchildren, Marissa (Shawn Wilson) Wicker and Dylan Carroll, Lane and Lily Dafforn, Kylie Gross, Hunter Thomas, Taylor Tyler, Tanner and Jaycee Thomas, Paityn, Bella, and Reagan Price, , Gavin, Aryssa, and Adalynn Leton, Kohlten and Aleena French, and Brody Workman; sister, Phyllis Reardon of Auburn; two brothers, Earl (Barb) Householder, Jr. of Valparaiso and Tom (Lora) Householder of Florida; sister-in-law, Maxine Householder of Avilla; and brother-in-law, Jack Benstead of Florida.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Jackson and Barbara Benstead; a brother, Warren Householder; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Reardon and Herb Jackson.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Mike Albaugh of Destiny Family of Faith in Kendallville officiating. Burial will be in Hooper-King Cemetery, Avilla.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Clinton Thomas, Justin Thomas, Dugan Price, Logan Price, Robert Householder, and Dalton Householder.

Calling is Monday, September 17, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Preferred memorials are to the American Lung Association, American Macular Degeneration Foundation, or to Emmauel Lutheran Church in LaOtto.
