Blanch Ritchie, 69, of Rome City died Friday, March 14, 2008, at 11:25 pm in Avalon Village Nursing Home in Ligonier. Mrs. Ritchie retired from Silgan Plastics in Ligonier, working there for over 25 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Rome City. She was born June 6, 1938, in Mousie, Kentucky, to Andy and Tennessee Slone. She was married to Marvin Ritchie, Homer Fugate, Sr., and Wallace Ray Ritchie, all of whom preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Arline Holliday and Mallia and Doug Holliday all of Rome City; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Marty L. Ritchie, Carl D. and Kathy Ritchie, and Homer Fugate, Jr. and Pauline Fugate all of Rome City; five stepdaughters, Patricial Randol of Kendallville, Teresa Ritchie of Nappanee, Audrey Coomer of Elwood, Brenda VanHalst of South Milford, and Homeretta Faulkner of Syracuse; two sisters, Ruby Taylor and Florida Slone both of Kentucky; and one brother, Garland Rusty Slone of Cosperville; 13 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters and a brother. Services will be Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at 11 am at the Young Family Funeral Home Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville, with Pastor Willie Collins officiating. Burial will be in Woodruff Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, March 17, 2008, from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the family.
