Billy R. Moore, 83, of Angola, Indiana, died Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Northern Lakes Nursing Home in Angola.
He was born December 3, 1941, in Hindman, Kentucky, to Clifton and Lucy (Hicks) Moore.
On April 25, 1964, he married Barbara J. Howard. She preceded him in death on January 16, 2016. Then in July 2018, he married Kathay VanDyne.
Mr. Moore previously lived in Ashley and Kendallville. He retired after 27 years from County Line Cheese in Auburn.
He was a member of Independent Full Gospel Church in Ashley.
Billy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and fly tying. He spent hours at the lake fishing every day.
Surviving are his wife Kathay Moore of Angola; two daughters, Melissa (Randall) Bishop of Kendallville and Wendy Moore of Kendallville; a son, Billy (Elizabeth) Moore, Jr. of Garrett; two stepdaughters, Shawnee (Rick) Likes of Angola and Angela VanDyne of Angola; three grandchildren, Shaylee (Joshua) Holland, Dustin (Trisha) Cupp, and Breanna (Nicholaus) Spillers; three great-grandchildren, Emma Spillers, Cyllas Cupp, and Cayne Cupp; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; five sisters, Glema Prater of Kendallville, Ora (Thomas) Wright of Kendallville, Barb (Jim) Messmer of Florence, Kentucky, Jeannie (Ollie) Shepherd of Albion, and Sara Chaffins of Auburn; and two brothers, Barkley (Sarah) Moore of Kendallville and Larry (Mary Jane) Moore of Albion.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Lucy Moore; and a sister, Annette Moore.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Independent Full Gospel Church, 1000 South Gonser Avenue, Ashley.
The funeral services will be Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Cliff Tanner and Pastor Sam Weimer officiating.
Private burial will be at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
Pallbearers are Michael Collins, Dustin Cupp, Aaron Armitage, Nicholaus Spillers, John Hodel, and Michael Collins, II.
Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
