Billy Gene Hall, 80, of Wolcottville, Indiana died Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.

He was born May 1, 1942, in Knott County, Kentucky to John and Lissie (Amburgey) Hall.

On December 3, 1961, in Kentucky he married Clara Sexton. She preceded him in death on November 13, 2020.

Mr. Hall moved to this area in 1964, coming from Kentucky. He worked as a coal miner in Kentucky and after moving to this area he worked at and retired from Dutchman in Middlebury.

He attended Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church in Lisbon.

Billy enjoyed gardening, being in his yard and walking around with Clara admiring nature.

Surviving are a son, Gregory (Angela) Hall of Butler; a daughter, Kathleen (Nnamdi Nwandu) Resendiz of Lancaster, Califormia; a young man he helped to raise who became like a son, Dustin Lacey of LaGrange and his son, Dustin Lacey, Jr.; special friend, Adolfo Resendiz of South Carolina; two grandchildren, Jesse Hernandez and Nelly Hernandez; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mimia Hall of Michigan and Myrtle Hall of Indianapolis.

He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hannah Resendiz; a sister, Jane Collins; and seven brothers, Morgan Hall, Everett Hall, Herbert Hall, Carl Hall, Danny Hall, Irvin Hall, and Grover Hall.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Wolcottville.

Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
