Beverly J. Lorntz, 87, of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, died Friday, October 31, 2025, at Orchard Pointe Health Campus in Kendallville, surrounded by her family.

She was born August 4, 1938, in Melbern, Ohio, to Clarence and Treva (Steward) Patterson.

On December 13, 1958, in Williams Center, Ohio, she married Merle W. Lorntz. He preceded her in death on August 25, 2021.

Beverly was a homemaker and had also worked at TI Automotive.

She attended Ashley United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed landscaping and flowers. She loved being a grandma and taking care of her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Brook (Joe) Hartman of Howe and Beth (Craig) Kain of LaGrange; five sons, Mark (Patty) Lorntz of Fremont, Michael Lorntz of Angola, Monty Lorntz of Pleasant Lake, Matthew (Donna) Lorntz of Angola, and Mitch Lorntz of Fort Wayne; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Barbara Barber, Linda Hulbert, and Patricia Smith all of Bryan, Ohio.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson; a great-granddaughter, four sisters and six brothers.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Hudson-Ashley Chapel, 612 North Main Street, Hudson.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Ken Weaver of Parkview Noble Hospice officiating

Burial will follow at Circle Cemetery near Hudson.

Pallbearers are Trevor Lorntz, Tyler Lorntz, Tatem Lorntz, Lance Lorntz, Cole Lorntz, and Blake Kain.
