Obituary

Betty Eileen Newkirk, 76, of New Haven died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at 3:20 am in Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne following a brief illness.

Mrs. Newkirk was a homemaker, and had worked at Indiana Bell as a service representative in Kendallville for five years. She had been a volunteer at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne since 1978. She was a member of the Tri Kappa Sorority, and had resided in New Haven since 1976.

She was born June 1, 1931, in Fort Wayne to A.W. And Margaret G. (Henderson) Scott. She was married on June 27, 1953, in Kendallville to Jack D. Newkirk.

Surviving are her husband, Jack D. Newkirk of New Haven; a daughter, Tina M. and Robert J. Clark of Fort Wayne; a son, Jeffrey Newkirk of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Scott Newkirk, Jessica Newkirk, Alex Newkirk, Megan Clark and Madison Clark; and two brothers, Raymond Scott of Kendallville and Donald Scott of Fort Wayne.

Graveside services will be Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 1 pm at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville with Rev. Ron Collins officiating.

Preferred memorials are to the donor's choice.
