Betty C. Lash, 92, of Avilla died Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at 8:45 a.m. at her home.
She was born February 25, 1925, in Auburn to Bernard and Marguerite (Houlette) Brown.
On June 11, 1943, in Avilla she married Louis Edward Lash. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2016.
She was a homemaker, however, during World War II she worked as a shell casing inspector for Flint & Walling in Kendallville.
Mrs. Lash was a member of the Weston Street Bible Church in Rome City, where she served as Treasurer. She also served on the East Noble School Board, Noble County Library Board, and the Noble County Extension Homemakers Club.
Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn Rudek of Benton, Arkansas, Nancy (Mike) Caywood of Huntertown, and Jennifer (Bill) Lewis of Lansing, Michigan; two sons, Daniel (Cindy) Lash of Rome City and Bernard Lash of Avilla; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Treesh.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Scott Kellenberger of the Weston Street Bible Church in Rome City officiating. Burial will be in Christian Union Cemetery, Garrett.
Calling is Monday, December 4, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Preferred memorials are to Gideon's International, Black Pine Animal Sanctuary, or the Humane Society of Noble County.
