Calling: Saturday, November 2, 2013 - 9 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home ********************************************************************************* Betty E. Kistler, 93, of Kendallville died Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 5 a.m. in Lutheran Life Villages, Kendallville.

She was raised in Churubusco, and moved to Kendallville in 1953.

She was the store manager for Haffner's Dime Store in Kendallville and also worked at No-Sag Corp. in Kendallville.

Betty enjoyed reading and crocheting.

She was born March 28, 1920, in Kendallville to Gail and Orzella (Yarian) Tomson.

In May, 1938, she married Stewart LaRue in Churubusco. He preceded her in death. In May, 1962, she married Darold Kistler in Albion. He survives in Topeka.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sandra (Virgil) Summers of El Paso, Texas and Sharon Owen of Albion; two sons, Delbert (Charlotte Ann) LaRue of Anchorage, Alaska, and Gary (Mary Ann) LaRue of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 10 great great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Owen, III; a brother, Gail Tomson; a sister, Shirley Ann Bennett; and a brother-in-law, James Bennett.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Vicar Mark Huston and Pastor Mike Wakeland both of Lutheran Life Villages, Kendallville officiating. Burial will be in Sweet Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Richard Owen, Jared Owen, Wade Owen, Dusty Price, Roger Molargik, BJ Owen, and William Price.

Calling is Saturday, November 2, 2013, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to Lutheran Life Villages, Kendallville.
