Obituary

Betty J. Hamm, 77, of Hudson died Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Laurels of DeKalb in Butler.

She was born July 11, 1940, in Ashley to Terry and Bertha (Getts) McClellan.

On June 14, 1996, in Angola she married Gene A. Hamm. He survives in Hudson.

She was a lifetime area resident.

Mrs. Hamm worked at Hamilton Products in Hamilton and retired with over 30 years of service.

Betty enjoyed doing puzzle books, reading, crocheting, yard work, collecting ducks, and cleaning house.

Also surviving are a daughter, Penny (Chris) Stump of Hudson; a son, Dan (Tammey) Parker of Hudson; two stepdaughters, Tammy (John) Moonen of Angola and Dianna Ankrom of Avilla; a stepson, Mark (Sherry) Hamm of Orland; two grandchildren, Christopher Gage (Abbey) Brommer) Stump and Logan (Kelsey) Parker; two great-grandchildren, Pace Parker and Paxton Parker; nine step-grandchildren, including Amy Hinkley and Bobby Mallott; 12 step great-grandchildren; three sisters, Carol Stahl of South Bend, Myrna (Ralph) Cook of Ashley, and Sherri (Steve) Angel of Fremont; and her beloved cat, Tagger Butt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Dallas McClellan.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Hudson-Ashley Chapel, 612 North Main Street, Hudson with Pastor Craig Burkholder of the Hudson United Brethren Church officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gage Stump, Rick Cook, Logan Parker, Chris Stump, Mark Hamm, and Dan Parker.

Calling is Monday, July 2, 2018, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
