Betty S. Duty, 76, of Rome City died Tuesday, June 23, 2015, in Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
She moved to this area in 1960, coming from Kentucky.
Mrs. Duty retired as a supervisor from Group Dekko in Kendallville after 37 years.
She was a member of Rome City American Legion Post 381 Auxiliary.
Betty enjoyed flowers and gardening. She dearly loved her grandchildren.
She was born August 9, 1938, in Hindman, Kentucky, to Dolph and Malveria (Terry) Draughn. They preceded her in death.
She married John T. Duty in Wheelwright, Kentucky. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, Thomas (Patty) Duty of Wolcottville; a daughter, Kimberly Duty of Rome City; six grandchildren, Michael (Amber Cahill) Campbell, Phillip Campbell, Joshua (Lauren Sage) Weimer, John T. Duty, Tabatha (Lee Prater) Parker, and Barkley (Rebecca Terry) Thomson; eight great-grandchildren, Arya Campbell, Zander Riddle, Amelia Duty, Gavin Duty, Lane Duty, Mason Thomson, Dylan Thomson, and Blake Thomson; a sister, Maggie Jane DeCorte of Florida; two brothers, Charles (Freda) Draughn of Louisiana and Jimmy (Judy) Draughn of Pennsylvania; and a brother-in-law, Jim (May) Duty of Wolcottville.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Draughn.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 10 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Paul Leathers officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.
Calling is Friday, June 26, 2015, from 2 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Saturday.
