Obituary

Betty L. Cass, 77, of Rome City died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 4:35 p.m. in her residence.

She had lived on Sylvan Lake for 30 years, coming from Kendallville. She was a cook at the Limberlost Golf Course and several area restaurants.

Mrs. Cass was a member of the Rome City American Legion Post 381 Auxiliary.

She was born July 13, 1934, in Garrett, Kentucky, to Richard and Lucille (Conley) Prater. On December 20, 1982, in Wolcottville she married Daniel W. Cass. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2011.

Surviving are a daughter, Diane Kelham of Bristol, Tennessee; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne Andrew and Becky Cass of Lansing, Michigan; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Jack Bruce of Virginia.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and two sisters.

Graveside services will be Friday, March 16, 2012, at 11 a.m. in Orange Cemetery, with David Fiandt, Chaplain of American Legion Post 381 officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
