Obituary

Betty I. Carter, 93, of Kendallville, Indiana died Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.

She was born August 1, 1929, in Rochester, Indiana to Alfred and Edith (Anthony) Greer.

Betty was a homemaker and caretaker. She retired as a live in caretaker at the Howard County Home.

She attended church in the chapel at Lutheran Life Villages.

Surviving are a son, William "Skip" (Sherry) Carter of Kendallville; a daughter, Jamie Duffy of Pembroke, Georgia; two grandchildren, Tabatha Klug of Pembroke, Georgia and James Duffy of Cincinnati, Ohio; six great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Bill Greer and Harry Greer.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 1 p.m. in the chapel at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville with Chaplain Mike Wakeland officiating.

Burial will be Woodruff Cemetery in Woodruff.

Visitation is one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the nursing home.

Preferred memorials are to the donor's favorite animal shelter.

Betty's funeral service on Thursday will also live stream on the Young Family Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 1 p.m. for those unable to attend.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
