Ben Roger Walker, 83, of Albion, Indiana lost his battle with COPD on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at his residence on Upper Long Lake surrounded by his family.

He was born January 10, 1940, in Fort Wayne to Ralph C. and Mae (Brite) Walker.

In 1976, he married Charlene Branning.

Ben loved to fish, watch Westerns, and spend time with friends. He was willing to help anyone with anything he could. Ben was a great cook and enjoyed cooking perch and blue gill.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Charlene Walker of Albion; two sons, Roger Hastings of LaGrange and Jerry Coak of Albion; two grandchildren, Christopher and Brandon Lee; a sister, Freda Barva of Ossian; and a half-sister, Frances Poli of Detroit, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Walker; his mother, Mae Riddle; two sisters, Vera Lepper, and Joella Troop; and three brothers, Calvin Walker, Mic Walker, and Leo Walker.

There will be no visitation or funeral services.
