Obituary

Barbara Rose Ritchie, 56, of Topeka died Friday, October 6, 2017, in her residence.

She was born February 3, 1961, in Knott County, Kentucky, to Nick and Dora Ellen Jacobs.

She married Bobby Ritchie in Kendallville in January, 2000. He survives in Topeka.

Mrs. Ritchie was a homemaker.

Also surviving are a daughter, Virginia J. Ritchie of Kendallville; two sons, Gregory C. (Nyoka Slone) Jacobs of Kentucky and Franklin D. Ritchie of Topeka; two grandchildren, Alexia Jacobs and Alex Jacobs both of Kentucky; two stepdaughters; three stepsons; a sister, Caroline (Keith) Thomas of Knott County, Kentucky; and a brother, Dale Jacobs of Wolcottville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Geraldine Jacobs; and two brothers, Daryl Jacobs and Ford Jacobs.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 12, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, 2900 E 1150 N-57, Wolcottville with Pastor Billy Fields officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Calling is Thursday, October 10, 2017, from noon to 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

Preferred memorials are to the family.
