Barbara J. Moore, 70, of Kendallville died Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 1:37 p.m. in her residence.
She had lived in this area for 52 years, coming from Knott County, Kentucky.
Mrs. Moore was a homemaker.
Barbara enjoyed singing, being a junior church minister, and participating in a nursing home ministry. But, most of all, she loved being a Mom.
She was born June 16, 1945, in Knott County, Kentucky, to Hagor and Shannon (Chaffins) Howard.
On April 25, 1964, in Clintwood, Virginia, she married Billy R. Moore. He survives in Kendallville.
Also surviving are two daughters, Melissa (Randall) Bishop of Kendallville and Wendy Moore of Kendallville; a son, Bill (Elizabeth) Moore, Jr. of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Shaylee, Dustin, and Breanna; five sisters, Erma (Joe) Huth of Auburn, Connie (Kenny) Moore of Stone Coal, Kentucky, Sallie Howard Spates of Lexington, Kentucky, Lois Ramsey of Garrett, Kentucky, and Ollie May (Ray) Bolen of Garrett, Kentucky; four brothers, Ac (Fay) Howard of Garrett, Kentucky, Ronnie Howard of Fort Wayne, Lee Howard of Garrett, Kentucky, and Stephen Ray Howard of Garrett, Kentucky; and two sisters-in-law, Annette Howard of Caney Creek, Kentucky and Glemia K. Howard of Rockfork, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Sandra Kay Bentley; two brothers, John Edward Howard and Bufford Howard; a sister-in-law, Deidra Howard; and a brother-in-law, Hugh Ramsey.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at noon in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Sam Weimer officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Cupp, Robert Huth, Michael Bielski, Jonathan Prater, Ronnie Howard, Jr. , and Kelvin Moore.
Calling is two hours before the service on Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to the family.
