Obituary

God received another angel on Saturday, January 15, 2011.

B. Darlene Dixon, 69, of Kendallville passed away at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Dixon was a homemaker. She was a well-loved member of the Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church, Lisbon. She dearly enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Darlene was born June 16, 1941, in Brimfield to Tony and Faye (Ackerman) Huff. She married her childhood sweetheart, Lee Dixon on July 19, 1957, in Brimfield. He survives in Kendallville.

In their 53 years of marriage, they were blessed with two daughters and one son, Edna (Roger) Purk of Luckey, Ohio, Patty (Jason) Price of Kendallville, and Lee (Sherry) Dixon, Jr. of Kendallville; six grandchildren, Aimee Miller, Joey Rugg, Mark Ley, Jr., Chrissy Cope, Toni Cain, and Cody Dixon; nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Claudette Mawhorter of Avilla, Nancy (Ollie) Kemplin of LaOtto, Linda Mitchell of West Virginia; and a brother, Ed (Lois) Huff of Kendallville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Huff; a sister, Patricia Huff; and two brothers-in-law, Jack Mawhorter and Sonny Mitchell.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery near Brimfield.

Casketbearers will be Jason Price, Joey Rugg, Mark Ley, Jr., Cody Dixon, Chris Miller, and Ryan Cope.

Calling will be at the church Sunday, January 16, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday, January 17, 2011, from 2 to 6 p.m. with an evening service at 6 p.m.

Arrangements are by Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.
