Obituary

Audrey Ann Bailey, 79, of Kendallville died Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne with her family by her side.

She was born September 19, 1941, in Hueysville, Kentucky, to Floyd Hicks and Lawnie (Hicks) Handshoe.

Mrs. Bailey retired as a nurse's aide and from the housekeeping department at McCray Memorial Hospital and the Lutheran Home, both in Kendallville.

Audrey enjoyed crocheting, music, dancing, gardening, canning, and cooking. She dearly loved animals.

Surviving are five daughters, Tressie Hass of Avilla, Marie Wilson of Kendallville, Debbie (Mark) Snyder of Kendallville, Tammy Bailey of Fort Wayne, and Donna Baker of San Manuel, Arizona; nine grandchildren, Colin Snyder, Howard (Jamie Smith) Wilson, Jr., Tricia (Derrick) Hoffelder, Rachel (Kevin) Phillips, Beth Wilson, Stephen (Crystal) Baker, Hannah Baker, Ricky Hass, and Nicole (Matt) Beck; 13 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Sharon Handshoe of Kendallville, Caroline (Steve) West of Kendallville, Phyllis (Clyde) Homister of Kendallville, and Joyce (Carl) Fields of West Liberty, Ohio. She is also survived by her cats, Gracie, Felina, Pickles, Smarty, and Pookie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Bailey; and a brother, Curtis Handshoe.

Private family services will be held at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Mike Wakeland of Lutheran Life Villages of Kendallville officiating. Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.

Pallbearers are Colin Snyder, Carl Fields, Derrick Hoffelder, Kevin Phillips, Mark Snyder, and Steve West.
