Obituary

Arthur J. Scott, 86, of Wolcottville died Saturday, October 21, 2017, in his residence.

He was born April 29, 1931, in Arcola to Samuel and Nellie I. (Wolfla) Scott.

On July 7, 1956, in Frankenmuth, Michigan, he married Myrta A. Roedel. She preceded him in death on January 19, 2015.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean conflict

Mr. Scott retired as a senior engineering technician for ITT in Fort Wayne after 25 years.

He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Wolcottville and LaGrange American Legion Post 215.

Surviving are a daughter, Sondra (Mike) Shondee of Arizona; a son, Daniel A. (Julie) Scott of Loveland, Colorado; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth J. Scott Reed of Fort Wayne, Mary A. Hardy of Jackson, Michigan, and Louise Bridges of Fort Wayne.

He was also preceded in death by three children, Tia Marie Scott, Jantha Raye Scott, and a stillborn infant; a sister, Linda Scott; and five brothers, Dale W. Scott, Earl S. Scott, Ernest R. Scott, Robert D. Scott and Carl E. Scott,.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, Wolcottville with the Rev. James Tews officiating. Private burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne.

Calling is Friday, October 27, 2017, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.

Preferred memorials are to Messiah Lutheran Church.
