Obituary

Arthur H. Pankop, 81, of Kendallville died Friday, August 30, 2019, at Parkview Randallia Hospital in Fort Wayne.

He was born January 22, 1938, in Kendallville to William and Welcome (Heltzel) Pankop.

Mr. Pankop had been an accountant for the state of Indiana in Indianapolis and then was an accountant for Everett I. Brown Architect Company in Indianapolis. After moving back to Kendallville to care for his parents, he worked as a truck driver for CMW Transportation in Kendallville.

Arthur enjoyed fishing and boating. He was an avid IU fan. He was a 50-year member of Hoosier Power Squadron where he was an advanced pilot and an instructor for 20 years.

Surviving are a son, Douglas H. (Vicki) Pankop of Lebanon; a daughter, Sherry (Michael) Lang of Pittsboro; seven grandchildren, Douglas Pankop, Timothy Pankop, Benjamin Pankop, Tabatha Pankop, Casey Lang, Jordan Peterson, and Staci Lang; and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kelly Pankop-Steadham; an infant sister, Carol Pankop; an infant half-sister, Norma Pankop; and a half-brother, Gerald Pankop.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 14, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Albion.

Calling is Saturday, September 14, 2019, from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home

Preferred memorials are to Kids Day Bass Fishing Tournament on Sylvan Lake in Rome City.
