Obituary

Albert G. Manuel, 104, of Venice, Florida, died Friday, September 28, 2012, in Venice, Florida.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Manuel was a music teacher in the New York City Public School System for 19 years. He then was a purchasing agent for Otto Construction Company and Koppers Company, both in New York City.

He was the oldest living member of the Olive Lodge #575 Masonic Lodge in Sherman, New York.

He moved to Venice, Florida, in 1965, coming from New York City.

He was born October 14, 1907, in Lorain, Ohio, to Maylam and Elsie (Gower) Manuel.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, David E. and Marna Manuel of Kendallville; a daughter, Catherine Trout of Kokomo; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Jill Manuel of Holland, New York.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Manuel.

Private graveside services will be at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.
