Obituary

Albert Knute Germanson, 82, of Oliver Lake, LaGrange died Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at his residence with his daughter at his side.

As a young child, Albert spent summers on Oliver Lake at his parents' cottage. After retirement, he moved to Oliver Lake on a permanent basis.

He received his Master's Degree from Ohio State University. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Germanson retired as Professor of Art at Otterbien College in Columbus, Ohio, where he spent his entire career. He was innovative in his work and created many successful programs at Otterbien College.

While at Ohio State University, he was head cheerleader and a member of Beta Theta Pi. He was a child prodigy at the piano, and possessed a huge passion for the theatre and acting. He was a collector of African art. Albert loved his children deeply.

He was born August 1, 1933, in Columbus, Ohio, to Albert Knute and Mildred (Troutman) Germanson.

Surviving are a daughter, Christa Germanson of Oliver Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Alix Germanson in 1972.

A memorial gathering of friends will be Saturday, March 12, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Germanson Home on Oliver Lake, 4600 S 150 E, LaGrange, Indiana..
