Alan D. Douglas, 80, of Jones Lake, Rome City, Indiana, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at his residence.

He was born December 14, 1942, in Fort Wayne to Harvey and Pauline (Luegring) Douglas.

Alan honorably served in the U.S. Army.

He married Helen Lucas on November 11, 1967. She preceded him in death on April 16, 2001.

He was a member of the Veterans Honor Guard, American Legion Post 381 in Rome City, and St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City.

Alan is survived by his companion, Karen Storey of Jones Lake, Rome City; and a host of friends.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

A memorial mass will be Friday, January 20, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City.

Burial will follow at St. Gaspar Cemetery.

Honor guard services will be provided by the Veterans Honor Guard and active duty members of the U.S. Army.
