Alan Lee Baker, 79, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2026, at My Michigan Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan.

He was born November 20, 1946, in Hillsdale, Michigan, to Ivan and Evelyn (Budd) Baker.

Alan honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy, completing three tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his military service, he worked as a truck driver and later retired as a store manager of a gas station.

Alan was a friendly and happy person who enjoyed driving around and taking in the sights. Most of all, he dearly loved his family and treasured the time they shared together.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Alan L. Baker, Jr. and Dianne Baker of Warren, Indiana; and five siblings.

Private burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
