My husband and I graduated with the class of 1960. Mr Early was our principal. He was a really nice man. Of course we were young and probably scared of the principal, but he treated us fairly. Our condolences to the family.

I attended Rushville High School from 1961-1965. Mr early was such a good role model for me, and many other classmates.Despite my current age (64), if I met with him before his passing, I would still be quick to call him Mr. Earley, because of the great amount of respect I will always have for him. I am sure he left the family with many great memories, because he sure left this hick town high school kid with more than a few. My deepest sympathies to all the family.

Greg, Mike and Families,
Cannot express the sadness we felt when we learned of Ben's passing. He had a big impact on Chris's life. Some people say something to you that you carry with you your entire life. Your father made such a comment to Chris and indeed he has never forgotten it. We were fortunate, while living in Kendallville to be friends with he and your lovely mother, Kathleen. We have enjoyed receiving each year's Xmas card from Ben and he always managed to write us a note in it. He will be missed by many.Chris is suffering from ALS and was not able to attend the funeral. We are so sorry for that. May God's love see you through your time of sorrow. With love and God's blessings.

Dear Greg, Mike, and Families,
Faye and I want to express our sorrow regarding the passing of your dad. He and your mother were very special friends to us when we lived in Kendallville.
I worked for and with your dad, and he was one of my favorite persons to be around. His confident quiet manner was very unique. I respected him so much I would have done anything he asked of me,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely, Gene and Faye

Gregg & Mike,
I am going to be in Indy on Friday and unable to talk with you during your dad's visitation. However, I wanted to let both of you know how much I respected and appreciated both of your parents. Your dad was the one who hired me to come to ENSC and was my first principal at the old K'ville Jr. High School. For that I will always be indebted to him. I learned much from him during that 1st year and even more when I joined the EN administrative ranks. What a wonderful individual he was.
I know that he was very proud of you guys. Likewise your mother was so supportive and helpful to me when I moved to the high school and especially when I was principal when she was my business dept. head.
Make sure you cherish the good memories that they created for you and your families.

Mr. Early was the principal at Rushville High School when I began teaching there. He was always a kind man, but would "put his foot down" when necessary.

I'm very saddened to hear of your loss.
While I was able to enjoy the benefit of being exposed to Mr. Earley's talents for only my freshman year of high school, I nonetheless came away from the experience with an enormous respect for a truly gifted administrator. During our one brief exchange that year he skillfully allowed me my dignity in a manner that has influenced me greatly to this day. His respect for his students was apparent and genuine. Over the years I have often cited him by name as someone who made a lasting impression on me in a very favorable way. Imagine the warm feeling I had when one day recently I heard the very words that he spoke to me that day in 1964 in turn echoed by me in a similar conversation with a high school student. Mr. Early was a real gentleman in a class all his own. I, like many others, am grateful for the great good fortune of having known him.
Respectfully, Holly Heuer

Greg and family, I was so sorry to hear about your Dad. He was a wonderful man. I know alot of kids that are better adults because of him. He will always be remembered for all of the years he gave to everyone. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Ben was principal at KMS while I taught there from 1976 - 1984. Ben was as nice and considerate a man as I've ever met. I never heard him utter a bad word about anyone and never heard any one utter a bad word about him. Can't even think of any of the trouble-making students who didn't think he was fair. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Ben will truly be missed. Gary Green
