Bufford "Deke" Terry, 69, of Albion died Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at 2:25 a.m. in his residence. He had been ill since 2006.

Mr. Terry retired after 30 years from Dana in Fort Wayne.

He was an avid fisherman, who liked the outrdoors and hunting. He enjoyed participating in bass fishing tournaments. Nothing was more important than his family. He dearly loved them all.

He was born November 18, 1940, in Hindman, Kentucky, to Shelby & Helen (Sawyer) Terry. On November 14, 1959, in Stroh he married Patricia Ann Gilbert.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Ann Terry of Albion; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike & Deb Terry of Wolcottville, Tim & Lola Terry of Ligonier, and Gary & Sherry Terry of Albion; nine grandchildren, Pam Terry, Melissa Terry, Holly Terry, Heather Terry, Doug Terry, Ashley Terry, Corey VanEs, Mike & Bree Taulbee, and Eric Terry; four great grandchildren, Aubree Terry, Ashton Terry, Dakota Terry, Michaela Terry and a great granddaugher due anytime, Raylin Terry; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Maudie Criswell of Kendallville, Shelby Jean & Bob Millhouse of Albion, Ruby & Bill Gayheart of LaGrange, and JoAnn & Robert Haston of LaGrange; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer & Opsy Terry of Middlebury, Roy & Judy Terry of Corbin, Kentucky, Shelby Terry, Jr. & Deb Terry of Wolcottville, and Glenn & Linda Terry of LaGrange; a sister-in-law, Londa Terry of Rome City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Shelby Terry; his mother, Helen Gibson; a stepfather, John Henry Gibson; a sister, Mavis Terry; and two brothers, Randell Terry and Edgell Terry.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 23, 2010, at 10 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville, with Pastor Mike Stanley of the Church of the Stone officiating. Burial will be in Brushy Chapel Cemetery.

Calling is Thursday, April 22, 2010, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Due to health reasons, the family requests that no live flowers be sent for the service.
