Operation Christmas Stockings for Soldiers
Young Family Funeral Homes, an exclusive, certified Veterans & Family Memorial Care Provider, are proud to be participating in their annual "Christmas Stockings for Soldiers" initiative. Today through Wednesday, November 25th, folks in the community may visit Young Family Funeral Homes at 222 South State Street in Kendallville and pick up a Free Christmas Stocking to take home, decorate, and stuff with Christmas Cheer. A list of ideas will be included with each stocking.
Stuffed stockings must be returned to the funeral home by December 1st. We will then ship them at our expense to troops abroad in time for Christmas. "This is a great way for us to show our support for the troops, while giving them a little taste of home for the holidays", said Kathy Young, owner of Young Family Funeral Homes.

We are also an official drop off center for "Cell Phones for Soldiers." Collectively, in the past three months alone, VFMC providers have collected over 4,000 old cell phones that have translated into a quarter million (250,000) FREE calling time minutes for our brave men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. Please drop off an old cell phone on your visit to the funeral home to pick up a FREE Christmas Stocking.
Anyone wishing to Stuff a Christmas Stocking for one of our heroes overseas may stop by Young Family Funeral Homes, located at 222 South State Street in Kendallville Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. today through Wednesday, November 25th.
Our collection of Sweaters for Soldiers that was conducted from November 1st to November 11th was a great success. Many new and nearly new sweaters were delivered to the V.A Hospital in Fort Wayne. Thank you to all who stopped by the funeral home and dropped off sweaters!
